i am backkk from switzerland.=D
it was a 12 hours flight from singapire to switzerland. then, we had to take a 2 and a half hour train ride to lausanne.luckily we met two singaporeans who were also from the same uni as my sis and its their second year already so they helped us along the way with our 120kg luggages. the first few days we were kinda unfamiliar with the place so we had to ask for directions everywhere we go. but slowly, we got used to the place and its quite fun exploring the different places yourself.
we thought that it would be rather cold there. but turned out that the weather was warm but with gentle breeze so it wwas quite relaxing. i would say that the people there are super duper cultured and civilised. the grounds are clean, very little fallen leaves, no litter. everything is just clean and green. not to also mention that the trees and bushes are super neatly trimmed. the life there is much relaxing compared to singapore, where everything is so fast paced that sometimes i find it hard to keep up with. not only are the people there cultured, even the dogs there are super obedient. the dogs there wouldn't bark at all, they wouldn't loiter aroudn and sniff you. their bus rides, they don't have bus conductors or bus drivers that watch you and make sure you tap ur ezlink card or pay coins if u dun have a card. the poeple there just board the bus and the drivers don't check whetehr u have bought a ticket. there's like this trust that the people there would buy their ticket before boarding the bus. i don't know, but like such trust they have in the people is really amazing.i mean, of course you can't implement such a system in singapore because as we all know, we are all kiasu singaporeans.(we go for anything that is free)
but of course, there is a negative side as well- the prices of food and blah blah. throughout my whole trip, i have been eating bread , bread and more bread. one piece of normal bread from coop pronto costs like near 3 dollars swizz francs. and that is near to 4 dollars in sing. a bottle of mineral water also costs around 3 dollars in swiss francs, so yup u can do the calculation yourself. is just multiply by 1.3. like burger king one meal costs abt 12 dollars there. which is about 15.60 in sing dollars. isn't that like crazily expensive?! and like train rides, our one way train ride to zurich airport costs around 100 dollars alrdy. for 1 person. taxi ride from the hotel to my sis's sch already costs 40 plus in swiss francs.madness.if not for accompanying my mum and sis to help her with her uni application there, i prob wouldn't get a chance to go there. blah hopefully with fresher air there, will help make me smarter so i can do well/ pass my promos. i have been like worrying about promos throughout my whole trip there. its terrible cuz you carn get to really enjoy yourself, cuz everything that is on your mind is promos.
after a few days of wandering about by ourselves, we are already rather familiar with the place and we took random buses to explore. exploration is fun. we visited the super old church there and attended their church service although we are not christians. we were jsut curious to see what they do. there is also the castle and the whole castle is wow. magnificent. we went to ouchy, the lake where there are many pretty swans and little ducks waddling in the waters. we also went to the olympic museum ((:
i would say that i am much more brave now. on one of the days, we decided to go to another city. we went to geneva, and kinda explored a bit. we joined a 5 hour city tour that took us to various places of interest- UN headquarters, WTO. Later in the afternoon, we visited the vineyards. there was also this whole field of sunflowers, super preety! ((: i like the architecture there. unlike singapore, there are very few high-rise buildings. neither are there tall shopping malls. they have small shops and you can walk down the street, going from shop to shop to purchase the stuff that you need. (:
on the 4/5th day, we went to my sis school to do her applications. the school is in quite an ulu place, but the air there is fresh and nice. =D i think my sis feels stressed cuz there are few asians there, but i know she will excel =)i think i miss her truckloads. although sometimes, we will quarrel over small matters but i still love her truckloads. <333
after sending my sis to school, me and my mum went around to do some more explorations. oh, the shops there are all closed on sundays so we could only stone in the hotel. -.-" oh and last day, me and my mum almost missed our train to zurich airport, heng we like run and dashed up the train and just hauled the whole luggage up.den take the 12h flight back to singapore again.
hehe. i just touched down few few hours ago. and i ate horfun. yay, no more bread. yippeee. i am sick of eating bread already. i miss singpaore's food.i miss switzerland's weather.i miss my sister who does the most retarded things. =(
alrights, back to studying. and boo. consultaiton starts tml and promos are nearing. like super near. so i better work doubly hard and no more thinking about switzerland =(( byebye switzerland. hello promos.
